Jane D Burnside Architects' reputation for excellence in blending contemporary architecture into landscape settings was recognised in being awarded Highly Commended in the 2009 RIAI Awards and shortlisted for Best House in the 2009 RIBA Awards. Each new house is carefully sculpted into the landscape to retain mature trees and natural water features. Carefully positioned areas of glazing maximise the views filling the interiors with natural light and extending the rooms out on to the terraces and gardens.

Each new home is designed to maximise solar gain and minimise heat loss through the use of high performance thermal glazing and high levels of high density insulation. Solar panels, ground source heat pumps and rainwater collection systems can also be incorporated as part of the design.
