Jane Burnside's
reputation as an architect designing beautiful contemporary houses
within the context of rural Ireland, has led her work to be featured
several times on television. Shortlisted
for Co Antrim in the BBC House of the Year programme hosted by
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, the Origami House was featured on BBC
One on 1st March at 10.35pm, repeated on Sunday 7th March BBC
Two at 17:30.

Her work is regularly featured in photoshoots for all the major
national magazines both in the UK and Ireland. Her Origami House
was awarded Highly Commended in the 2009 RIAI Awards for Best
House and was shortlisted in the RIBA Awards 2009 for Best House.
Her dedication to the raising of design standards is shown in
her 13 years of service to Queen's University, Belfast. Today
she continues her education role as an external examiner of Professional
Practice and Management in Scotland.
Through her involvement advising local MLA's on the drafting of
Rural Planning Policy PPS21 she has been the key note speaker
for both the PPS14 and the PPS21 Rural Planning Policy Conferences
in Belfast.
